The Top 5 Voices You Have Heard In Your Life

Everyone has their hobbies. Whether it is working out, playing sports, watching sports, or playing an instrument, we all have leisure activities that we like to do to pass time. If you know me, you know that I am a podcast Fanatic. It all started Sophomore year of High School with Pardon My Take, which I have mentioned plenty of times before. Those two hours-or-so, three episodes per week of solely sports talk have turned into listening to podcasts like it is my day job. I now subscribe to 13 podcasts, and average about 22 episodes per week which equates to over 40 hours of listening per week. It is safe to say that my favorite hobby is probably listening to podcasts while exercising.

One of the Podcasts I have been listening to the longest is called KFC Radio: a Barstool Sports Podcast hosted by Kevin Francis Clancy and John Henry Feitelberg, two of Barstool's longest tenured employees. I have been listening to these two for 5 years now. They used to have 4 or 5 episodes per week that were shorter (15min-1hour), but now they have 2 or 3 hour long episodes twice per week with an additional episode recapping KFC's Radio Show, CCK.

If you aren't familiar with KFC Radio, they have a card game called "Answer The Internet". Basically ATI is a game where these two podcast hosts ask their celebrity guests their opinions on questions that were formed in the deepest darkest corners of the internet. These questions are things like: "Do you think you are smarter than Christopher Columbus (given you have all the technology that you have now)?" or "Would you rather have penis-sized nipples or a nipple-sized penis?". The questions range from intellectually pleasing to very odd... as you can see by the examples provided. You can actually play the game for yourself if you click this link: https://store.barstoolsports.com/products/kfc-radio-answer-the-internet-card-game?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItu-87Oue7QIVBfHACh1o3ACZEAAYASAAEgL-GPD_BwE

The reason I am writing this blog is because I (sort-of) came up with one of my own ATI questions that actually aired on the most recent episode of KFC Radio. (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kfc-radio/id536209167?i=1000500051245)

So, to answer my own ATI.... Here are my Top 3 Voices I think that I have heard most in my lifetime (excluding my parents)

  1. Since it is my own question, I make the rules, and I am taking a duo first. I think the voices I have heard the most in my life are Big Cat & PFT Commenter of Pardon My Take, from Barstool Sports. This is the very podcast that got me into my all-time favorite hobby. Podcasting is the modern "adult-nerd" thing to do, and I feel very out-of the demographic. I think I was one of the early adopters of podcasts for people my age, and I really wouldn't have been if this podcast wasn't the complete association of sports and comedy. If I had given any other podcast a try first, I would've been bored, and went right back to the Apple Music app, but because of the great hosts of Pardon My Take, I am the podcasting connoisseur that I am today. Every Monday, Wednesday, and FriYay for the past (nearly) five years, I wake up with a lift and Pardon My Take. Although Henry Lockwood (Hank) has been on the show since its birth, I haven't heard him as much as anyone else who follows on this Top 3 list. Thank you Big Cat and PFT for being some of the bigger influences on my life that has turned me into the podcast lover that I am today...

2. The people I have heard the most excluding Big Cat & PFT are the lovely couple of Kevin Francis Clancy, and John Henry Feitelberg, the hosts of the KFC Radio Podcast of, again, Barstool Sports. If you have read basically any other blog that I have written, you know that I talk about Barstool, A LOT. Well, this is a podcast that is loosely based on... honestly whatever. KFC and Feits have been around since the dawn of the internet... Well at least the dawn of my own internet...

KFC and Feits take the cake because once I gave PMT the subscribe, I wanted to get more and more Barstool Content, and I went to the OG Barstool Podcast, KFC Radio. Ever since then I used to listen to the "quickies" everyday and now, every Tuesday and Thursday (and Monday's CCK), I hear those two spectacular personalities 2 or 3 hours at a time. And I can't get enough of it.... You never know what blasphemy will come out of John Henry's mouth, and you never know what KFC is going to rant about next. Happy to say that KFC's mood has been on the up and up since the Steve Cohen purchase of the Mets. Those are the very things that keep me coming back for more and more every Tuesday and Thursday.

3. Last but most definitely not least, Chris Marlowe and Scott Hastings were the Genesis voices of my love for sports, which began when I was 5 or 6 years old and it started with basketball. I would turn on the Nuggets and watch every single game from the time I was 6 until I was busy with stuff in high school... so until about age 14. So, 82 times (or more) per year for 8 years (plus additional games here and there in the last five years), there is no doubt that the commentators for the Denver Nuggets are some of the voices that I have heard the most in my life.

So, who are the three voices you have heard the most in your life???

If you made it this far on this post reply to my tweet :')
