The Denver Nuggets are eliminated, but Jokic isn't done yet

The Nuggets have been the team I have most closely followed throughout my life. Since coming to college it has been difficult to stay up into the wee hours of the night to be able to watch regular season games, but for the playoffs staying up late is a must.
With the being said, yes the Nuggets were unfortunately eliminated from playoff contention Wednesday night, but Jokic's MVP stint in Denver is far from over.
In the aftermath of Wednesday night’s season-ending loss to the Warriors, Nikola Jokic said he intended to sign a supermax deal with the Nuggets this offseason if the organization offers it.
“If (the) offer’s on the table, of course, I’m gonna accept it because I really like the organization,”
Throughout the series against the Warriors, Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, Steals, and Field Goal Percentage... AND IS THE FIRST PLAYER TO EVER DO THAT IN ANY PLAYOFF SERIES. Although you might find this stat impossible, it only makes sense. The Nuggets played virtually the entire season not having Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Junior. Essentially, Jokic called on Aaron Gordon, Montae Morris, Will Barton, Bones Hyland, Austin Rivers, and many other rotational players throughout the season to help him battle for a fighting playoff chance. A fighting chance it was. This team was full of grit, led by the Big Quesarito himself. Although we never gave up or gave in, we fought to the last game of the regular season and gave the Warriors our toughest battles before being eliminated.
Nikola Jokic should go on to win his second consecutive MVP this season because of all the hard-work he showed.
During the regular season, Jokic lead the cast of misfits in every category (points, assists, rebounds, blocks, steals), as well as led the league in Field Goal Percentage and Player Efficiency. Not to mention, amongst all NBA players he finished 2nd in rebounds/game.
With the season over, Jokic, adorned in a comfy green sweatsuit postgame, said he intended to head back to Serbia “as soon as possible.”
Indifferent to the spotlight, he was unconcerned whether he was also on the verge of a second consecutive MVP.
“If I don’t get it, I’m not going to die,” he said.
But if he does win it, he said he’d celebrate with music, beer, friends and family.
“Like how you supposed to do, probably,” he said.
Jokic was quoted saying “Just going home, being around my family, being around my friends, being around my horses. I have a daughter now, so it’s going to be even better.”
The season long story has been that Nikola Jokic doesn't really care about the MVP award either, which is seemingly true. In fact, he doesn't even care about the United States (other than Denver). All he wants to do is go home, ride his horses, be with his family, and drink some beer
The best part about Jokic not caring about the MVP? He doesn't care about what ANYONE thinks. After deeming his daughter “the most important thing” Jokic was asked about the respect among his peers to which he replied: “Can’t care less, brother."

Although Jokic doesn't care about what others see him to be, I think the league's respect for the regning MVP has increased since they saw what the Nuggets (and more importantly Jokic) did this season without their 2nd and 3rd best players. Yes, he won the MVP last year, but it didn't seem like anyone really cared until it was argued he should win the award this season as well. That ugly-boi Draymond Green even thanked Jokic saying, “thank you for making me better. It’s absolutely incredible to play against a guy like that, incredible, incredible talent. Just told him thank you for making me better. It’s an honor and a pleasure to play against someone so talented and so skilled.”
@Nuggets, I urge you to resign this man. I don't care if I have to pay a portion of his salary, I need him. Next year, look out NBA because the soon-to-be Back-to-Back MVP is runnin this joint and he'll have his 2nd and 3rd punch rolling along with him.
