Italy are champions of Europe

A long time coming. In all truthfulness, my favorite sports to watch are International Soccer and College basketball. I can't tell you why or how, but there is something more special in my heart when I support my teams in those sports, especially on the biggest stages.
Now, in my life, Italy has won the World Cup, but I was too young to follow the team or really even understand what the difference was between the World Cup, or other sort of international competition. Since then, I have been a huger supporter of the Italy National team. Both in the previous European Championships and the World Cups, however we could never pull it out.
Now, at 21 years of age, we reach a point where we have the best team in Europe! In all honesty, our roster had been stronger in previous years, but so were rosters of other teams like Spain, Belgium, Portugal, England, and France. Becoming the best team in Europe is no easy feat, however it is something that great teams do.
All I wanted was to win this tournament. This year alone, I was given:
-A great CBB recruit in Cade Cunningham, just to be knocked out by a cinderella Oregon State team.
-A promising CFB roster that ended up being the third best team in the conference
-The NBA MVP just for injuries to destroy our opportunity of making a deep run to the finals
-The best team in the NHL just for covid rules to screw us by making us play the second best team in the second round of the playoffs.
Then we have Italy. The sweet homeland of my ancestors. A team that has a new starting goal keeper, a very veteran and storied back line, and aging midfielders and attackers with a couple of new faces that haven't played for the national team much before this EURO Championship. A team that can figure out how to play the fast paced game of the Belgians and British, or how to use only 34% of possession to score against a super slow team like Spain. This team could hang with literally anyone, and they did just that. They showed how strong of a defense we have and how important it was to the backbone of our team.
Italy, I cannot thank you enough. Forza Azzurri alla fine.
